Students will examine sport from a sociological and anthropological perspective with a special focus on: places of sport, sport and health, space and time, body, social life, communication, performance, the welfare system.

The course aims to provide the basic knowledge of the main sociological and anthropological concepts. It also aims to apply such a basic concepts to sport and to its declinations: competitive, spectacular, technical and dramaturgical model.

Introduction: basic sociological and anthropological concepts. Body. Global Society. Communication. Space and Time. As far as the anthropological approach: basic concepts, examples of researchers in the field of sport, problems related to sport and contemporary multiculturalism. The role of the ethnographer team management.
