Course Content
The student will acquire the knowledge to navigate and operate in the health and social contexts in order to contribute to the promotion of personal wellbeing and the family, applying the logic of Family Nursing, integrating the network of services, groups, operators and community professionals. Learning Objectives
At the end of the course the student will be able to describe the historical evolution of nursing care in
psychiatry, the rules for the protection of mental health and the care path for the person with discomfort
psychic; assisting the person with psychiatric problems and arguing for the need to collaborate
positively within the multiprofessional team.
It will be able to describe the application of the nursing care process to the person with health problems

From the asylum to the mental health department. The evolution of nurse role, current distinctive competences, Mental Health Protection and the regulations that govern it: Law 180/78; Projects National and Regional Objectives, Organization of Mental Health Services: the Department of Mental Health, the Center for Mental Health, Day Centers, Residential Structures, Spdc.
