Development and features of monolconal antibodies, immunoenzymatic assays, description of flow cytometric instrument and its application to investigate cell functions, procedures for cell separation, procedures for cell transfection (transient or stable), animal models of diseases.

Learning Objectives
After completing the course, the student will improve his knowledge on: monoclonal antibodies, immune-enzymatic assay, flow cytometry, cell separation approaches, cell transfection and viral infection, mouse models of different kind of pathologies.

Monoclonal Antibodies: production and applications; Immuno-enzymatic and radio-immunologic assays; Flow Cytometry (general aspects and applications, cytokines evaluation at single cells levels and soluble cytokines; antigen specific T cells response; cell proliferation; apoptosis; cell cycle; fluorescence signal amplification; side population, telomeres analysis; calcium flux); cell Separation (MACS, FACS, resetting); cell transfection and viral infection, mouse model (KO, transgenic mouse; autoimmune diseases, allergic diseases, tumors)
