Knowledge: techniques in biophysical analysis of proteins, in cell culture, in gene expression manipulation, in citofluorimetry for cell signalling molecules, in confocal microscopy for real-time analysis of molecular mediators, in cel metabolism, in -omics data analysis, in functional bioinformatics, in pathway and network analysis.
Skills: this couse aims at providing students with tools and skills to appropriately manage experiments in the fields of biophysics, biology and bioinformatics so that they can properly integrate them in order to obtain rational ond objective results.
Prerequisites
Basics of theoretical aspects of the cell phenomena that will be described from a methodological perspective. Knowledge of the structural basis of proteins and protein folding. Basics of protein folding and protein aggregation.
Teaching Methods
The course consists of both full frontal lessons, where key points are set up and specifically described, and practical sessions, where some of the theoretical concepts are observed, applied or elaborated.

During the course practical sessions on instruments and bioinfromatics will be held.
Type of Assessment
Oral examination aimed at evaluating the acquired knowledge and the ability of the student in integrating the themes of the course. Practical problems will be formed and the student will be asked to approach them and design analysisi strategies coherent witht the objectives of the course. The examination will be a unique, joint session so that the student can fully exploit the broad knowledge acquired.
