The student will acquire knowledge about the physiopathology of Sleep Waking Systems in addition to sleeping techniques such as polysomnography, actigraphy, Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT) and the wakefulness test with particular attention to fittings and recording parameters.
Attention will be devoted to the classification of sleep apnea during sleep and the use and management of CPAP and self-CPAP.

Learning Objectives
The learner will acquire the necessary skills for collecting the history and performing the sleep study techniques (polysomnography, multiple sleep latency test). Particular attention is given to setting the parameters needed to perform a polysomnographic recording.
It will also develop the ability to identify various sleep stages and identify sleep-related respiratory events (apnea / hypopnea).
